Willis L. Scott, 78, died Friday, August 19, 2011 at the Avera Dougherty Hospice House, Sioux Falls. Funeral services will be at 3:00pm Monday at the First Baptist Church, Parker with burial in Rosehill Cemetery, Parker. Visitation will begin at 4:00pm Sunday at the Hofmeister-Jones Funeral Home, Parker with a Prayer Service at 7:00pm Sunday evening. Willis Lee Scott was born on May 28, 1933 at Parker, SD to Floyd and Grace (Farr) Scott. He grew up at Parker and served in the US Army. On June 28, 1955 he was united in marriage to Marcene Lehmann at Freeman, SD. They farmed near Parker before retiring and moving into Parker in 1994. He had worked for Koyker Manufacturing, Lennox and was a driver for NAPA for the last 14 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. His wife Marcene died in 1996. Grateful for having shared his life are 3 children, Dave (Nancy), Lennox, Pamela (Brian) Sandro, Harrisburg, and Debra (Richard) Thalhuber, Sioux Falls; 7 grandchildren, Hilary (Kory), Emily (Eric), Lindsay, Kasey (Justin), Megan, Taya, and Molly; 3 great grandsons, Kayden, Devyn, and Darryn; a brother Jim (Joyce), Arizona City, AZ; and special friend, Mary Garry, Parker. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Robert and Donald, and 2 grandchildren, Melissa and Jennifer.
