Paula LeAnn Bajelan, 55, of Kearney, NE passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, NE. Funeral services will be at 1:00pm Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at the Hofmeister Jones Funeral Home, Parker with burial at the Hurley Cemetery, Hurley. A Celebration of Life service will be 10:00am Friday, October 18, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Kearney. Paula LeAnn Wollman was born on October 29, 1957 at Viborg, SD to Arnold and Clara (Deelstra) Wollman. She grew up on a farm near Hurley, SD where she graduated from Hurley High School in 1975. After attending the nursing program at Freeman Junior College she worked at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls. There she met Salem “John” Bajelan and they were married in February of 1989 in Sioux Falls. They lived in Duluth, MN and Texas before moving to Kearney, NE in 1989. She was employed in the Neonatal Intensive Care Nursery at the Good Samaritan Hospital for the past 23 years. Paula always had a smile on her face, laughing and joking with friends, family, and co-workers. She touched the life of everyone she met and worked with. Her pride and joy was her four children and her job. Paula loved her job taking care of newborn babies. Grateful for having shared her life are her husband Salem “John”, Kearney; 4 children Jamila and fiancé Bernard, Layla, and Ahmed, all of Lincoln, NE, and Mariam, Kearney, NE; her mother Clara Wollman, Parker; 3 sisters Marilyn (James) Sage, Crofton, NE, Debra (Lee) Washington, Sioux Falls, SD, and Judy (Dean) Sturzenbecker, Parker, SD; a brother Albert Deelstra, Sioux Falls, SD; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Arnold in 2011.
