Deanna Merryfield

DeAnna Merryfield, 55 of Viborg died Friday, September 29, 2017 at Sanford USD Medical Center, Sioux Falls after being a strong fighter of ovarian cancer. Funeral services will be at 1:00pm Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Spring Valley Lutheran Church, rural Viborg. Visitation with family present will be from 5-7pm Tuesday at the Hofmeister Jones Funeral Chapel, Viborg. DeAnna Louise Merryfield was born on November 18, 1961 in Waukesha, WI to Robert and Joyce (Wollenhaup) Pagel. She grew up at Waukesha where she was a member of the class of 1980 at Waukesha South High School. In 1989 she was united in marriage to Randy Merryfield. In 2006 they moved to South Dakota. She was employed as a certified nursing assistant in Wisconsin and at Pioneer Memorial in Viborg. Through her work as a CNA she enjoyed caring for countless others. She was active in Spring Valley Lutheran Church, enjoyed living in the country so that she could garden, raise chickens and ducks, and spending time at home. During the holidays she enjoyed cooking for others, along with keeping busy with her hands by sewing and cross stitching. Grateful for having shared her life are her husband Randy; her children Jason Warichak, East Troy, WI, Michael (Telia) Merryfield and her two grandchildren Holly and Joshua, Lennox, SD, and Jill (Shane) Ramlow, New Berlin, WI; her father Robert Pagel, Waukesha, WI; and a sister Tammy (Steve Schmidt) Pagel, Horicon, WI. She was preceded in death by her mother, a brother Robert, and a special grandmother Louise Holzapfel.
