Darrel Ihnen

Darrel Ihnen, 75 of Parker, passed away surrounded by his family on August 4, 2026 at Ava's House, Sioux Falls. Memorial visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 PM Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at Hofmeister-Jones Funeral Home with a time of sharing beginning at 7:00pm. The family requests that the public sport their Denver Bronco gear or NASCAR gear. Arrangements provided by Hofmeister-Jones Funeral Home.

Darrel Lee Ihnen was born on January 14, 1951 to Merle and Ardell (Reiners) Ihnen. He is the oldest of 4 children. He was raised in Parker and graduated from Parker High School in 1969. After school he worked various at various places primarily as a welder, retiring from DTS.

Darrel loved to work in the garage. Even at a young age he could be found in the garage working with Merle on different projects. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially when they went camping. Darrel could be found rooting for the Denver Broncos and watching the NASCAR races whenever he had a chance.

Darrel will be missed. He is survived by his children Kathy (Andy) Boe of Sherburn, MN, Chad of Parker, and Stacy of Parker; 5 grandchildren Justyce (Nate) Ihnen, Tyler Boe, Jonathan (Katherine) Ihnen, Christian Ihnen, and Harley White; Siblings Doug Ihnen of Harrisburg, Holly Unruh of Freeman, and Melonie (Lorin) DeVries of Lennox; special friend and caretaker Kathy Visser; nieces, nephews, and friends. Darrel is preceded in death by his parents and daughter-in-law.
