Dianna Ihnen, 84 of Wakonda, formerly of Parker, passed away on April 21, 2026 at the Wakonda Heritage Manor, Wakonda. Memorial Service will be at 10:00 AM Monday, April 27, 2026 at Grace Lutheran Church, Parker. Arrangements provided by Hofmeister-Jones Funeral Home. The Service will be broadcasted here on her Obituary.
Dianna Mae Ihnen was born on November 3, 1941, at Lennox, SD, to Luverne and Helen (Buus) Ihnen. She was baptized on November 19, 1941, at First English Lutheran in Lennox, SD. Dianna spent part of her childhood on a farm north of Parker, SD. She attended Parker School.
On December 17, 1958, she married Darold Benning and to this union two children were born, Linda and Wayne. Dianna later married William Weegar on June 22, 1979. To this union her son, Billy, was born. She was confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Parker, SD, on May 5, 1980.
Dianna was a certified Emergency Medical Technician. She held several jobs over the years, including waitressing, bartending, babysitting, computer parts production, and customer service at First Premier Bank in Sioux Falls, SD. Dianna's hobbies included riding horse, sewing, quilting, crocheting and gardening. On April 25, 1997, she married Lyle DeNeui. Dianna was a member of Ladies Auxiliary VFW, Eastern Star, and Grace Lutheran Church.
Dianna is survived by her children: Linda Strobel of Sioux Falls, SD, Wayne Benning of Hurley, SD, and Billy (Rebecca) Weegar of Viborg, SD; by her seven grandchildren: Justin (Sheila) Strobel, Kayla Mehlhoff, Kelli Hoyle, Daniel (Melissa) Preheim, Bailey Weegar, Brittany Weegar and Bethany Weegar; along with 13 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers: Dwane (Sharon) Ihnen of Lincoln, NE; Gary Ihnen of Midpines, CA; Robert (Melissa) Ihnen of Marion, SD; and sisters: Sharon Petit of Sioux Falls, SD, Marlene Gross of Wakonda, SD, Verna Bourassa of Sioux Falls, SD, Cindy (Mark) Bailey of Watertown, SD; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and three sisters.
