Eleanor Flood

Aug 3, 1942 — Oct 8, 2026

Eleanor C. (Vassallo) Flood, 84, passed away on October 8, 2026.  Services will be held at a later date in Colorado.

Born on August 3, 1942, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Eleanor was the daughter of John Vincent and Carmella Mary (Pannulla) Vassallo. She traveled throughout the United States and abroad to Germany before eventually settling in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where she raised her four daughters: Lorrie, Dianna, Tina, and Roseann.

Eleanor spent many years as a homemaker before building a career in long-term care.

Known for her strong-willed, opinionated, and no-nonsense personality, Eleanor was never one to mince words. She knew what she liked, knew what she didn't, and rarely hesitated to make her opinions known.

Eleanor had a fondness for music, particularly Frank Sinatra, John Denver, and opera. She enjoyed playing bingo, taking walks with her beloved poodle, Misty, and going for scenic drives through the Rocky Mountains. She also enjoyed the Denver Broncos and had a special fondness for Precious Moments figurines, building an extensive collection over the years.

Eleanor enjoyed spending holidays with family. Among the memories her grandchildren will carry are trips to the mall and outings for ice cream, simple moments that became lasting childhood memories.

Eleanor is survived by her four daughters, Lorrie, Dianna, Tina, and Roseann; her sisters, Carmella (Dolly) and Joann; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Vincent and Carmella Mary (Pannulla) Vassallo, and her brother, John Jr.

Eleanor leaves behind generations of family, a lifetime of memories, and a presence that will not soon be forgotten.
