Leon Gilmore

Leon Gilmore, 15 of Hurley, passed away on July 2, 2026 at the Fairview Masonic Children's Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, July 25, 2026 at the Viborg Community Building, Viborg. The public is welcome to dress comfortably or cosplay. In Lieu of Traditional Floral Arrangements, the family requests plant arrangements. Arrangements provided by Hofmeister-Jones Funeral Home.

Leon Patrick Gilmore awas born on December 5, 2010 in Rapid City, SD, to Brady and Michelle (Laeng) Gilmore. He was later joined by his sister Talia.

Leon was a student in Rapid City before moving to the Viborg-Hurley School district. Leon loved video games, among his favorites were Kingdom Hearts (all games), Skyrim, and Minecraft. Leon liked to pose and play with action figures. Emotionally mature and absorbent to knowledge like a sponge leading to many intellectual conversations. Leon very much loved his little sister Talia, embodying the "big brothers are born first to protect their little siblings" and he always did.

Leon joined his dog Vishous in the other world on July 2nd, 2026, at 1:55 am. He is survived by his parents Brady and Michelle, sister Talia, and his dog Neltu.
