Lois Elaine Stacey was born on October 29, 1939 near Irene, SD to Alvin and Ethelyn (Rundell) Mork. She grew up on a farm northeast of Parker where she graduated from Parker High School in 1957. After attending college in Madison, she met and later married Tom Stacey. They farmed near Farmer, SD. She then moved her family to Hurley to be near her parents. She enjoyed working at Hy-vee in Sioux Falls. Lois moved to Viborg in 2002. She was a resident of the Pioneer Memorial Care Center for the past year.
Lois was an active member of the Hurley United Methodist Church. She was a very strong advocate for those with disabilities. Lois enjoyed baking and treat time, loved her cat Pokey, enjoyed playing cards and coloring, but her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. Lois enjoyed traveling and her trip to England was a highlight.
Grateful for having shared her life are her 5 children, Marc (Rita) Stacey, Spearfish, SD, Tami Stacey, Sioux Falls, David Stacey, Madison, Laura (Darin) Hjelm, Viborg and John Stacey, Sioux Falls; a sister Ellen (Mitch) Egeberg, Lincoln, NE; 6 grandchildren, Trevor (Ashlynn), Nathan (Bailey), Andrew (Katie), Dylan (Jessi), Beth, and Grace; and 3 great grandchildren, Payton, Noah, and Waylon.
