Sharon Kay Weeldreyer was born November 27, 1943 to John and Esther Weeldreyer. She grew up northeast of Marion. She attended country school near Marion and High School at Monroe, graduating from Parker in 1961.
Sharon was united in marriage to Dennis Borgers at Sandham Reformed Church on June 5 th, 1964 in Monroe, SD. To this union, two children were born; Lyndale and Gary. Dennis and Sharon raised their family on their farm, north of Marion, before moving to their current residence in Marion. Sharon worked for the Farm Service Agency in Parker for 47 years.
Sharon was active in her church for 58 years. She enjoyed reading, gardening, fishing,
playing games, baking, camping, and spending time with family. Sharon had a knack with
children. She was always ready to have the grandkids come and stay and was so happy to spend
time with her great-grandchildren; all who brought her immense joy! Some of her specialties
were her raisin fritters, sticky buns, ice cream dessert, raspberry jam, and mashed potatoes. She
enjoyed many wonderful trips with her husband and good friends including Alaska, Florida,
Texas, Hawaii, Arizona, Panama, and Aruba. She loved being with her family. Sharon and Dennis
made many trips to Wisconsin to visit Gary, Cindy and family. The Turner County Fair was
something the grandkids looked forward to every year as she would treat them to rides and
homemade ice cream.
Sharon was always ready to lend a hand to help out in any way she could. She knew
Jesus as her Lord and Savior and was a prayer warrior for her family and anyone in need. She
was the best role model, wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend
you could ask for. She had a smile that would light up the room and a hug that would last a
lifetime. Sharon brought joy and love to any room she entered, and never ceased to show
endless love and kindness to others. Sharon was truly one-of-a-kind.
Those grateful for having shared her life include her husband: Dennis Borgers of Marion,
