Tami Stacey

Tami Stacey, 56 of Sioux Falls, passed away on June 21, 2026 at the Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, July 16, 2026 at the Hurley City Cemetery.  The family would like to invite friends and relatives to gather for refreshments at the United Methodist Church following the burial.  Arrangements provided by Hofmeister-Jones Funeral Home.

Tami Louise Stacey was born on September 29, 1969 to Lois and Tom Stacey, joining older brother Marcus. They would later be joined by David, Laura, and John. Tami grew up in Hurley, attending various schools, but would later settle in Sioux Falls. Tami enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, playing games (especially Pit and dominoes), and loved watching game shows, especially Price is Right.

Tami’s love language was food and she cherished helping her mom in the kitchen. Although she was always willing to find a treat with her nieces, nothing was better than a double scoop of chocolate ice cream.

Traditions were very important to Tami, whether it be the many winning BINGO games, or her love of Christmas Eve oyster stew. She made sure that traditions were always remembered.

Tami was known for her infectious smile, laughter, and sassy quick-witted one liners. Tami will be fondly remembered and missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by brothers Marcus (Rita) Stacey of Spearfish, David Stacey of Madison, and John Stacey of Sioux Falls, her sister Laura Hjelm (Darin) of Viborg, her nephews Trevor (Ashlynn) Stacey, Nathan (Bailey) Stacey, Andrew (Katie) Stacey, Dylan (Jessica) Hjelm, and nieces Elizabeth Hjelm and Grace Hjelm and great nieces Payton and one on the way and great nephews Noah, Waylon and Fisher and numerous aunts and uncles.

Tami was proceeded in death by her mother Lois Stacey and father Tom Stacey; grandparents Alvin and Ethelyn Mork and Harry and Doris Stacey.

Thank you to everyone who has helped care for Tami throughout her life. A special thank you to the Journey House staff, who were unbelievable caregivers, before Tami transitioned to Dougherty House.
