Tim Luke

Tim Luke, 65 of Marion, passed away on August 19, 2026. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM Monday, August 24, 2026 at St. Christina's Catholic Church, Parker. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 PM Sunday, August 23, 2026 at the church with a Scripture Service beginning at 7:00 PM. Arrangements provided by Hofmeister-Jones Funeral Home.

Timothy Jon Luke was born on May 21, 1961 in Sioux Falls, SD to Hubert and Dorothy (Bovee) Luke. He is the youngest of six boys. Tim was confirmed and baptized at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He graduated from Marion High School in 1979.

After graduation he started working for Marion Oil as a truck driver. He worked there for over 28 years, then worked at CHS for another 5 years. He was an avid driver, always getting up early and driving around Marion to see what was going on. He also enjoyed going to the rodeo and collecting belt buckles. Tim was a member of the Marion Fire Department for over 20 years. He also was a member of the Mairon Jaycee and played on the Jaycee softball team.

On July 18, 1986, Tim married Linda Dick. Tim enjoyed bowling, refinishing furniture, watching Westerns and Twins baseball. He loved his sweets especially from his niece and friends. He loved the company of his nieces and nephews and was know as “Tim Jon”. We will never forget his quick wit and good come backs. After conquering cancer, he really enjoyed life, talking with his neighbors and riding his scooter.

Tim will be missed. He is survived by his brothers Jim of Sioux Falls, Chuck(Linda) of Marion, Dick of Marion, and Ron (Lorie) of Garretson; Nieces and Nephews Dan (Becky) Luke, Tom Luke, Todd Luke, Lindsey Luke (Kyle Thill), Kristi (Lance) Nogelmeier, Steven (Kalah) Luke, Lara (Cole) Joachim Cole DeSplinter, Chad DeSplinter, and Taylor Luke; great-nieces and nephews Alex(Rachel) Luke, Liz (Tristan) Atack, Natasha(Jacob Ham) Luke, Zachary Luke, Taylor (David Saldana) Luke, Lakin Thill, Hudson Nogelmeier, Markus, Harper, and Kaislee Luke; and all of Tim’s friends. Tim is preceded in death by his parents, brother Duane (Joy), sister-in-law Laurel Luke, and niece Tammy Desplinter.
